My Favorite Miya
Miya began her college experience studying Organizational Business at the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) from 2007-2009. While at Mizzou she worked at Linens N’ Things, the Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center (work study), and Marriott Hotels. She went on to study Hospitality Management in the Business School at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) from 2009-2011. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for National Asset Recovery Systems and while attending SEMO. Her medical condition, epilepsy, interfered with her education and she moved back to Saint Louis in 2011 to start Miya Elle Personal Assisting Services.
Miya Elle LLC originally began as Miya Elle Personal Assisting Services in 2011, when she determined her passion for helping others. At the time she was working from home for Convergys Corporation on a project for AT&T. She felt that traditional corporations and earning a salary did not fulfill her the way that helping individuals did. At the time, she had no professional personal assisting experience but listened to her spirit and took a chance. She reached out to local artists in Saint Louis, and was able to secure internships with, local radio personalities, Selena J and Shorty Da Prince, and Murphy Lee and K’Juan, hip-hop artists, of the St. Lunatics. She also helped with managing social media for The Dollhouse Studios. Miya took a hiatus from the company when she gave birth to her daughter in February of 2014.
